England vs Australia July 14, 2013

England have full control over the match and are just four wickets away from winning the Nottingham Test and take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. But Michael Clarke thinks otherwise.

Australia's newspapers are hoping teen sensation Ashton Agar can replicate his record-breaking first Test innings and guide his team to victory in the fluctuating first Ashes Test against England.

While the media Sunday highlighted yet more umpiring controversies that have dogged the series opener at Nottingham, commentators pointed to the 19-year-old rookie as Australia's unlikely saviour after his amazing debut knock of 98 batting at number 11.

At the end of fourth day's play Australia were struggling at 174/6, needing another 137 for a win. Australia's first innings hero Ashton Agar and vice-captain Brad Haddin are at the crease. Agar was promoted ahead of Mitchell Starc, Peter Siddle and James Pattinson on Saturday.

Earlier, Ian Bell's hundred started it off brilliantly for the hosts but Australia fought back to remove the last four wickets for 19 runs. The visitors then had a great start with Shane Watson and Chris Rogers, who added 84 runs before former fell lbw to Broad. That opened up the gates and Graeme Swann then picked up Steve Smith and Phil Hughes with some fine display of spin bowling. Joe Root too came into action with Ed Cowan's wicket, whose Test future seems to be in doldrums. Eventually England ended on top and will fancy their chances going into Day 5.
