Cardiff vs Tottenham September 22, 2013

Cardiff play host to Tottenham hoping to maintain their unbeaten home record in the Premier League.

Cardiff have shown they are more than a match for the Premier League big boys on home soil as they prepare to welcome Tottenham to the Cardiff City Stadium.

Malky Mackay's men picked up their only win of the season to date with an impressive 3-2 success over Manchester City and they have also drawn with Everton at home.

Cardiff have drawn their last two Premier League outings and they will be hoping to capitalise on any tiredness in the Tottenham ranks following their Europa League exploits.

Tottenham bounced back from their north London derby defeat by Arsenal with a 2-0 win over Norwich and they will be looking to keep pace with the leading pack with another three points at Cardiff.

Andre Villas-Boas shuffled his pack in midweek against Tromso and all his top stars are set to return to the starting line-up as Spurs look to record another victory over one of the Premier League new boys following their opening day win over Crystal Palace

Indeed, the summer of 2012 saw Caulker sign a four-year deal at Tottenham and set him up for a good future at White Hart Lane.

So he will be forgiven for thinking he has a point to prove come Sunday. The England International has come into the Cardiff side and looked every inch that player.

Since his debut, he has settled into a strong partnership with Ben Turner, has been very consistent and was even handed the captain’s armband for the Hull game in the absence of Craig Bellamy.

Sunday’s game against Spurs is one that will provide the toughest test so far this season.

A team really on the up, driven by a clever and tactically astute manager.

Tottenham were impressive last week and could have beaten Norwich by any score. Plus they look solid and have only let in one goal all season. Andre Villas-Boas looks like a Mourinho apprentice and has made sure his team are hard to beat, which is the way to do it in this league because nobody will score three or four every week.

But Cardiff is a hard place to go, especially after playing in the Europa League on Thursday night. The manager is already moaning that they've got to play Thursday-Sunday-Tuesday and that could carry through to the players. It's a hard one to call because I don't see how Tottenham will fail to create chances and I'm going to go for a draw - but if I had to pick someone to win I would say Tottenham. I've been impressed with them and I think they've got every chance of winning this Premier League.
